Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026 · wirethevoid.com

Overview

WireTheVoid (“we”, “us”) operates the website and service at wirethevoid.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how you can disconnect or request deletion. The Service lets you connect your own Google account for YouTube, see your connected channel on a dashboard, and upload videos you choose with metadata you enter—each upload is started manually by you. We do not sell your personal information.

Google Privacy Policy

If you use Google or YouTube features through the Service, Google’s handling of data is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

User information and API Data we access, collect, store, and use

Depending on which features you use, this may include:

  • OAuth credentials and related session data, including refresh tokens, access tokens, token expiry information, and temporary resumable-upload state while an upload is in progress
  • Channel ID, channel title, and channel thumbnail URL for the connected channel
  • Channel description and keywords when you load or save them on the Channel page
  • Video library data for your channel, such as video ID, title, description, privacy status, published date, thumbnail URL, category ID, and made-for-kids status
  • Read-only YouTube Analytics data we request for display in the app, including daily views and estimated minutes watched
  • Video files and upload metadata you submit, such as title, description, and visibility, when you explicitly start an upload
  • Recent-upload history stored in your browser for this site, including titles, video IDs, visibility, timestamps, and YouTube/Studio links

Information we receive from Google / YouTube

When you use Connect YouTube and complete Google’s OAuth consent, we receive OAuth tokens and limited data from Google’s APIs, only within the scopes shown on the consent screen: YouTube upload, YouTube account access (for channel display and channel settings you edit in the app), and YouTube Analytics read-only.

  • Channel metadata for the dashboard: we store and display your channel title, channel ID, and thumbnail URL so the app can show which channel is connected.
  • Channel settings you save: when you use the Channel page and click Save, we send your channel description and keywords to YouTube to update your channel as you directed.
  • Analytics summaries: when you open the Analytics page, we query YouTube Analytics for your channel and show read-only aggregates (for example daily views and watch time) in the app. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
  • Video library on the Videos page: when you open the Videos page, we list videos from your channel via the YouTube Data API. When you save edits or confirm deletion, we send only that action to YouTube.
  • OAuth tokens: we store credentials needed to call Google APIs on your behalf, including a refresh token and related access tokens, in an encrypted server-side session (see below). We use these only to maintain your connection, perform the actions above when you use those features, and upload videos when you click upload.

Sessions, cookies, and storage

Google / YouTube session. We persist your signed-in state using an encrypted HTTP-only cookie named wirethevoid_session (implemented with iron-session). That session holds your OAuth refresh token, related access-token state, channel fields needed for the Service, and temporary resumable-upload state while an upload is in progress. The cookie is bound to our domain and should only be sent over HTTPS in production.

Optional team site access. If enabled in our deployment, we may set a separate HTTP-only cookie after you enter a team password at /login. That cookie only proves site access; it is not a substitute for Google OAuth and does not grant access to your YouTube account by itself.

Recent uploads list in your browser. Titles, visibility, timestamps, and links for uploads you perform may be stored in localStorage on your device so the “Recent uploads” view can show your history in that browser. This data does not leave your device except when you upload (the video file and metadata go to YouTube as described below). Clearing site data for wirethevoid.com removes this list.

Video files and upload metadata

When you select a video file and enter a title, description, and visibility, you direct us to send that file and metadata to YouTube via Google’s APIs to create a video on your connected channel. We process uploads only when you submit the upload form. We do not use your videos for advertising, model training, or resale.

How we use information

We use the information above solely to:

  • Authenticate and maintain your YouTube connection per your Google consent
  • Show your connected channel on the dashboard
  • Update channel description and keywords when you save on the Channel page
  • Display read-only analytics for your channel on the Analytics page
  • List and update your videos, or delete a video, when you use the Videos page
  • Upload videos and metadata when you explicitly request an upload
  • Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
  • Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests

Hosting, subprocessors, and sharing

We use infrastructure providers to host and run the Service. Our primary hosting and deployment may include Vercel (or comparable providers), which process data only as needed to serve the application. Google processes OAuth and YouTube API requests under Google’s terms and privacy policies, including the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Service.

Retention and deletion

We retain OAuth and channel data in the server session while your connection is active. You may stop our access at any time using the controls below.

  • Disconnect in the app: use Disconnect YouTube on the dashboard (and on upload / recent views when connected). That clears our session for your Google connection on this site.
  • Revoke in Google: remove WireTheVoid in your Google Account permissions to revoke OAuth access at the source.
  • Browser data: clear wirethevoid.com site data to remove locally stored recent-upload rows.

To request deletion of information we hold beyond these self-service steps, contact us at the email below. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

Security

Production deployments should use HTTPS and a strong SESSION_SECRET. Access tokens and refresh tokens are sensitive; treat your device and Google account as part of your security boundary.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the email below.
